Another day another auction, Treasuries are mostly unchanged this morning ahead of today’s $42 billion 5-year Treasury auction. Ahead of this afternoon’s auction both Fed Chairman Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Geithner will be appearing before Congress at separate appointments.
Undoubtedly, one of the topics during Bernanke’s report will be last week’s increase in the discount rate by the Fed. Also, today’s January new home sales report is expected to show an improvement.
